WesAudio MIMAS 500 series FET compressor

The WesAudio MIMAS is a 500-series analog FET compressor inspired by the famous 1176 design, one of the most iconic compressors in the history of music production. This processor combines the classic analog FET sound with modern features such as digital recall and full DAW integration.

With its extremely fast attack and precise dynamic response, MIMAS is perfect for controlling dynamics on vocals, drums, bass, and solo instruments.

FET compression with Carnhill transformers

At the heart of the WesAudio MIMAS is a fully analog, balanced circuit with headroom up to +24 dBu. The sound is shaped by Carnhill transformers, which add depth, punch, and analog character to the signal.

Despite advanced digital control, the entire signal path remains 100% analog, preserving the authenticity of the classic FET sound.

Classic Ratios and "All Buttons In" Mode.

MIMAS offers classic compression ratios:

• 4:1 and 8:1 for controlled compression
• 12:1 and 20:1 for more aggressive limiting

Also available is the popular "All Buttons In" mode, which produces more aggressive and characteristic compression, widely used for drums and creative sound design.

Saturation mode for adding analog color

Saturation Mode allows you to add harmonics and character to the signal even without applying compression. With a single knob you can control the amount of saturation, making it easy to get the right balance between cleanliness and analog color.

Digital control and DAW integration

Like all devices in the ng500 series, MIMAS offers a Total Recall function. All settings can be saved and recalled directly from the DAW session via compatible VST2, VST3, AU, AAX and AAX DSP plugins.

Touch-sensitive encoders also allow you to record automations in real time, enabling you to control the hardware compressor directly from the DAW.

Compatibility with 500-series racks and TITAN

MIMAS is fully compatible with standard 500 Series chassis and the WesAudio ng500 system. When used with the TITAN rack, you can control all installed modules via a single USB or Ethernet connection.

The Hardware A/B function also allows you to quickly compare two different compressor configurations, facilitating the mix and sound design process.
