Eventide Omnipressor is a faithful software emulation of one of the most innovative and influential dynamics processors in the history of professional audio. Created in the early 1970s and designed by Eventide founder Richard Factor, the Omnipressor revolutionized the concept of compression by introducing advanced techniques now considered fundamental to modern mixing.
Much more than just a compressor, Omnipressor offers extremely flexible control over every aspect of audio signal dynamics. Compression, limiting, gating, expansion and dynamic reversal coexist in a single processor capable of creating unique and deeply musical sound effects.
The famous Function control allows the compression ratio to be managed on a continuous scale from extreme expansion to infinite compression and beyond, leading up to the characteristic Dynamic Reversal function. This technology reverses the dynamic behavior of the signal, turning weaker sounds into prominent elements and attenuating louder ones, simulating reverse tape-like effects.
Omnipressor includes detailed attack, release, maximum gain and attenuation controls, offering exceptional precision in both traditional mixing and creative sound design. Sidechain support also allows dynamic behavior to be driven via external audio sources, further expanding processing possibilities.
