BrightFrame, a state-of-the-art immersive audio facility dedicated to music and post-production in New Orleans, has expanded its presence with the opening of a new location in Los Angeles. Mirroring the main studio in New Orleans, the Los Angeles location houses a state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos 9.1.4 mix environment based on PMC studio monitors renowned for creating immersive sound environments in the world's most prestigious studios. The opening of BrightFrame Los Angeles underscores the company's ongoing commitment to providing world-class sound for film, TV, music and podcasts.
Located in Burbank, in the heart of the city's media district, BrightFrame Los Angeles is owned by Dr. Jenny Mains, who launched the New Orleans studio in November 2024 along with partner and chief engineer Erick Bardales. The technical design and integration of both facilities were overseen by Bardales in collaboration with RSPE Audio Solutions. Designed specifically for music mixing, post-production for film and TV, ADR, dialogue editing, dubbing, and voice production, the new facility is also equipped for writing sessions, music production, and voice recording.
At the heart of the facility is a Dolby Atmos 9.1.4 monitoring system consisting of active dual-cabinet PMC IB2S XBD-AII reference monitors for the LCR channels, PMC ci65 wall speakers for front wide, side surround and overhead, and PMC ci140 for surround back, all powered by LEA Professional Connect Series Dante amplifiers. Four PMC 8-2 SUB active subwoofers handle the low frequencies. RSPE took care of the entire Atmos room integration-from speaker placement to acoustic treatment and signal flow-in full compliance with strict Dolby specifications.
The equipment also includes an Avid S6 M40 control surface, an Avid MTRX II with Thunderbolt connectivity, a Lynx Aurora (n) 16-channel AD/DA converter that routes mixes to an SSL Sigma summing machine, a Pro Tools HDX system, and a wide selection of microphones, preamplifiers and outboards. ASC acoustic treatment ensures a neutral and perfectly calibrated listening environment.
"Every element of this room was carefully thought out, from speaker selection and placement to acoustic treatment, to ensure accuracy and translation across all formats," said Russ Belttary, founder of RSPE Audio Solutions. "It is a space designed for the highest level of work, delivering world-class results."
Bardales added, "This new BrightFrame studio was designed to meet the technical and workflow needs of professionals working on a variety of formats. Within weeks of the room's completion, we hosted Bart Schoudel, Selena Gomez's vocal producer, who mixed tracks from Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's new project here."
Gomez's team was so pleased with the first mixes that Bardales was asked to curate the rest of the album in Atmos, including the Deluxe versions, which he called "a great start and a clear confirmation of the space's potential. We look forward to opening the doors to other exciting projects."
The original New Orleans studio, also designed and integrated by RSPE Audio Solutions and Bardales, includes a Dolby Atmos mix stage with three-way active PMC 8-2 monitors for the LCR channels, PMC ci65 for front wide, surround side and rear, and ci45 as overhead, powered by LEA Professional Connect Series Dante amplifiers, as well as two PMC 8-2 SUB subwoofers for low frequencies. Integration includes an Avid S6 M40 control surface, an Avid MTRX interface and Pro Tools HDX. BrightFrame New Orleans also offers a stereo mix and production studio with PMC 8-2 monitors and a conference room equipped with PMC ci45 speakers powered by LEA amplifiers.
Together, BrightFrame's New Orleans and Los Angeles studios embody a unified vision, delivering exceptional immersive audio through PMC's signature industry-leading monitoring technology.
