The Schoeps MiniCMIT Blue is a compact shotgun microphone designed for direct-take applications in film, television and broadcast. The MiniCMIT offers the same sound characteristics as the popular Schoeps CMIT 5, but in a shorter and lighter format, ideal for situations where maximum maneuverability is required.
The microphone features the same frequency response as the CMIT 5 and SuperCMIT (channel 2), allowing it to be used interchangeably without altering the sonic character of the recording. This makes it particularly suitable for professional productions where tonal consistency between different microphones is critical.
With its short length and light weight, the MiniCMIT is perfect for use on booms, compact rigs and portable systems. The front-lobe supercardioid polar pattern ensures precise directionality and clear pickup of the main sound source.
The microphone incorporates a fixed 70 Hz low-cut filter with fourth-order slope (24 dB/octave), designed to effectively reduce low-frequency noise such as boom vibrations, wind noise and ambient interference.
The MiniCMIT is particularly suitable for use with digital transmitters such as the Sound Devices A20-TX. The P12 power supply support enables more efficient power consumption, while the latest version of the Schoeps RFI Shield provides excellent protection from radio interference.
These features make the MiniCMIT an ideal choice for film productions, documentaries, television, and professional field recording applications.
