The PMC 15 XBD active monitors represent the evolution of a long tradition of sonic excellence, inspired by the legendary BB5/6 XBD series, for over 35 years a reference in the world's leading recording and mastering studios. This dual-cabinet system guarantees impressive low-end extension and total transparency, ideal for those seeking maximum decision-making reliability in audio production.

Modular design with dual cabinets and 15" drivers

Each PMC 15 XBD unit consists of two separate cabinets, each equipped with a 15" woofer designed in-house by PMC. The LF drivers boast dual magnets and 3" three-layer coils, offering exceptional power handling, minimal distortion and extended headroom. Cabinets can be placed vertically, horizontally or ceiling mounted for seamless integration into any environment.

Wide-dispersion tweeters and midrange drivers

Sharing high-frequency and mid-frequency components with the PMC10 and PMC12 systems, the 15 XBD adopts a 34mm soft-dome tweeter and a PMC75v3 midrange with n-compass™ waveguide, ensuring wide and even dispersion through the crossover point.

DSP control and master-level amplification

The system is driven by the Master36 module, a DSP/amplifier rack unit that provides 800W each to the tweeter and midrange, and 2000W to the woofer. The second cabinet (XBD) is powered by the Power20 module with an additional 2000W for the 15" driver. Control is via LAN with the SoundAlign2 browser interface, which allows precise adjustments of crossover, protection and room EQ.
