Wave Alchemy Tapewave is a plug-in inspired by 80s cassette tapes, blending analog saturation with the degraded, nostalgic charm of lo-fi. With a few intuitive controls you can go from a warm, vintage feel to deep, immersive musical degradation.
Tapewave includes six distinct tape styles, each with its own sonic and visual aesthetic. The "Age" control allows you to transform each tape from new to fully worn, capturing the full range of typical tape degradation.
Two analog-style compression modes allow you to achieve results ranging from slight dynamic control to extreme crushing. The "Loc" mode faithfully emulates the famous Shure Level Loc for a unique vintage effect.
Using an advanced engine, Tapewave simulates the tone irregularities typical of cassette tapes, combining stable curves and custom Perlin noise. With the Drift control you can push instability to the limit to create expressive and unique effects.
Molded analog saturation circuitry with up to 16x oversampling ensures sound quality free of digital artifacts. In addition, Tapewave includes an output maximizer, selectable hiss and internal preset browser with 100 production-ready sounds.
