Erica Synths SYNTRX II: a "dark horse" for experimental setups

Building on its experience with SYNTRX, Erica Synths has designed a new instrument designed to integrate even better into contemporary electronic setups and experimental music. SYNTRX II covers sonic territory from eerie drones to powerful basslines to glitchy noisescapes: a desktop analog machine built for intense, unconventional sonic journeys.

Two main VCOs, advanced modulation and "special" ring mod

The heart of the synthesis consists of two extremely stable main oscillators with waveshaper and CV waveforms, flanked by a modulation oscillator with 1V/oct tracking. The uniquely designed ring modulator adds character and harmonic complexity, perfect for metallic timbres, sidebands and more abrasive textures.

Analog patch matrix, modulations and performance control

In SYNTRX tradition, everything revolves around the analog patch matrix, which makes routing quick and "hands-on," with three levels of attenuation at each patch point. The modulation section includes free-running or gate-synced sample & hold, multicolor noise generator and loopable trapezoidal envelope with VCA. Recordable joystick adds instant expressive control, ideal for performance and gestural automations.

Sequencer, FX DSP and integration with external instruments.

SYNTRX II includes a piano roll sequencer and two step modulation sources, plus DC-coupled external instrument inputs with signal inversion and envelope follower, so you can "animate" patches and FX by following the dynamics of external sources. The effects section on new DSP platform offers Delay and Reverb developed in collaboration with 112db, to refine the sound without leaving the instrument.
