Eurorack Clocked Gate Logic Module - Black
AtoV Gaeto (Black) is an original clocked logic module for Eurorack systems, designed to transform and combine triggers, gates, and legato signals. Its name comes from the combination of the words “Gate” and “Legato” and reflects the module’s ability to convert one type of signal into another, generating rhythmic patterns and complex logical behaviors.
Thanks to its architecture, which is open to experimentation, Gaeto can be used as a clock divider, legato generator, trigger-to-gate converter, rhythmic quantizer, sub-octave generator, or source of generative trigger sequences.
Gaeto’s operation is based on storing the current state at the Data input. When the signal exceeds the 1 V threshold, the module stores a logic high state; otherwise, it stores a logic low state.
On the next clock pulse, the main output goes high when a logic 1 has been stored, while the complementary output goes high when a 0 has been recorded. This behavior allows you to create synchronized rhythmic processing, logic alternations, and patterns dependent on the input signal.
The output is connected to an AND gate that allows you to choose whether the signal should follow the duration of the clock pulse or remain high until the next clock pulse.
This function can also be controlled via CV, enabling dynamic modulation of gate duration and the creation of complex, ever-evolving rhythmic variations.
Gaeto’s unique logic function allows it to be used in numerous contexts within a modular system. It can divide a clock by two or by three, convert short triggers into longer gates, align rhythmic events to the clock grid, or generate sub-octaves from audio signals or pulses.
It can also produce generative trigger sequences, transforming seemingly simple control signals into complex and musically interesting patterns.
Multiple Gaeto modules can be connected together using the included cable to create shift register functions. This configuration allows you to transfer logic states from one module to the next and develop more elaborate sequences, rotations, and rhythmic structures.
The design uses CMOS integrated circuits from the CD4000 series, specifically the 4013 and 4081 models. These components were chosen for their reliability, operating speed, and low power consumption.
With a width of just 6 HP and a depth of 20 mm, AtoV Gaeto (Black) offers high functional density and is suitable even for the most compact Eurorack cases.
