Carnaby HE2: evolution of harmonic equalization

The Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 brings innovative HarmonicEQ™ technology to a 2U stereo rack format, expanding on the concept introduced with the Carnaby 500. Using analog harmonic saturation for boost and cut, the HE2 enables musical interventions on sources, stems, and mixes with the familiarity and control of a classic parametric equalizer.

3-band parametric EQ with character

Each channel offers 3 bypassable HarmonicEQ™ bands, with 10 dB of cut or boost and fully adjustable frequencies. Each band uses a harmonic saturation specific to its frequency range:

• HI: 5 kHz - 25 kHz with soft saturation for natural "air"
• MID: 200 Hz - 6.2 kHz with dynamic harmonic emphasis
• LO: 20 Hz - 420 Hz with clipping saturation for sub emphasis

Tailored dynamic response and saturation

HE2 reacts dynamically to signal level, increasing boost/cut and harmonics as gain increases. Input/output controls ±20 dB per band allow you to manage saturation intensity or work cleaner.

Remote control and DAW integration

Via USB or Ethernet connection, you can control all Carnaby HE2 parameters directly from your DAW via dedicated plug-in. You can save and recall presets, monitor in real time and view status on 5" TFT screen with digital encoders and LED ring.

Mid/Side processing and hardware insert

Carnaby HE2 fully supports Mid/Side mode, ideal for mastering, mixing and sound design. Each channel includes a bypassable TRS insert (post M/S encoding, pre decoding) to integrate external hardware into the signal chain.
