This event is open to all manufactures of Modular Synthesizers and electronic music technology entrepreneurs.
This is a two-day event at March 24-25th 2018 which will take place at theImpact Hub Florence.
Impact HUB Florence has chosen to requalify the 1000 sq.m. building, once owned by the Italian Customs, and where initially there were warehouse to storage goods, close to the railway station of Firenze Rifredi.
Exhibitor Space: Impact Hub Florence has a dual spirit: during the day it is a coworking space for hundreds of professionals who use workstations and offices; during the weekend it becomes BUH Circolo culturale urbano, with a rich time-table of concerts, book presentations, debates, dinners, and DJ sets. With its spaces, Impact Hub Florence becomes the perfect venue for events, parties, conventions, meetings, courses, exhibitions, press conferences, workshops and team building/networking available to companies, associations, private and public entities.
Performance Space: This space was designed by Architect Donato Masci through the installation of acoustic treatments in order to make best sound performances.
Every brand is welcome to manage mini live sets and/or presentations by performing the sounds of their systems in BUH’s main room.
Please, contact us if you would like to be included in this area’s program. No extra fees will be required for this area.
U 67 – Return of the Legend
Introduced in 1960, the U 67 was the quintessential studio workhorse
throughout the formative years of modern music. Today, more than ever,
its inimitably smooth sound continues to be in high demand.
Now, for the first time in decades, Neumann’s legendary tube
microphone is back in production, built to the original specifications.
NEUMANN – THE ORIGIN OF ALL STUDIO MICROPHONES
Many products introduced in the history of the company have become milestones of professional audio technology. It is no accident that when listing their equipment, audio studios almost always put Neumann microphones at the top of the list – they are a recognized sign of a highly professional operation.
Microphones with highest sound quality
Neumann gives the customer the certainty of acquiring a product with unsurpassed sound quality, reliability and lasting value, an investment that usually survives several generations of audio engineers. Although Neumann microphones certainly are not cheap, professionals know from their daily experience that they are worth the cost. Many owners of home recording studios also dream of having “a real Neumann” of their own.
Neumann U 67 – Return of the Legend
We are very proud to announce the re-issue of the Neumann U 67 tube microphone, one of the most famous and desired microphones in recording history. Sonically, the current reissue is identical to the U 67 made from 1960-1971. It uses the same capsule and electronic design. Key parts, such as the BV 12 output transformer, are meticulously reproduced according to original documentation. EF86 tubes are carefully selected for optimal characteristics and lowest noise in a dedicated measurement facility. The power supply was redesigned to meet today’s strict safety requirements and to accommodate the slightly higher filament current of newer premium grade tubes. The new power supply NU 67 V is fully compatible with older U 67 microphones.

Antelope Audio’s talented team of engineering experts, led by capable company CEO Igor Levin, designed DISCRETE MP to perfectly match the frequency response of the already-available, trailblazing EDGE, a large-diaphragm modelling microphone featuring dual edge-terminated capsules for a smooth/natural sound, reproducing the expressiveness and character of costly classic microphones — albeit without excessive expense. Elsewhere, the EDGE Strip-bundled DISCRETE MP dual-input microphone preamplifier places the same transistor schematic that beats at the state-of-the-art heart of the aptly-named DISCRETE 8 Thunderbolt™ & USB Interface with 8 Discrete Mic Preamps and DISCRETE 4 Thunderbolt™ & USB Interface with 4 Discrete Mic Preamps series siblings — released to critical acclaim late last year — at its user’s fingertips.
Still deeper, DISCRETE MP masterfully makes available Antelope Audio’s signature sonic footprint of pristine audio quality. The unique discrete design of its preamp allows Antelope Audio to modify each individual aspect of the preamp, putting total control over colouration, clarity and character in the hands of discerning users.
- two INPUTS on MIC-XLR and LINE-USE 1/4” JACK, offering 20dBu max balanced @ 2kΩ (XLR only) and 29dBu max balanced @ 13K to ground (TRS only);
- two TRS OUTPUTS (22dBu max);
- USB CONTROL I/O (USB 2.0 Full-Speed Type B for remote control only);
- and a mic preamp pushing out an accomplished gain range of 0dB to 61dB (in 1dB steps) alongside 48V phantom power.
EDGE Strip — a breakthrough bundle of Antelope Audio’s all-new, all-analogue DISCRETE MP Discrete Dual Ultra-Linear Microphone Preamp and already-available, trailblazing EDGE modelling microphone — is shipping in March 2018.

Modular synthesis in Eurorack format changes the world of music production.
Davide Ricci from KillingToys Roma
May, 5 2017 – 10:30 am – Tor Vergata University – Rome
Sound design, composition and live music have undergone a radical change thanks to the return of modular synthesis and the use of eurorack synthesizers, which we find today in most production studios.
Appeared in Italy for some years now with revisions of old systems (eg Buchla, Moog) today bring the musician to enter into symbiosis with the synthesizer himself by letting it be carried by infinite sound possibilities.
Together we will discover:
- The evolution of eurorack systems
- How to assemble an eurorack synthesizer
- The components of an analog synthesizer
- The path of the audio signal
- Testing and listening to some eurorack modules
The last part of the seminar on modular synthesizers will allow you to touch the synths brought to the event with your hand.

Grp Synthesizer strong> is a newly established Italian company that designs and builds high-end analog synthesizers.
Fully assembled by hand, Grp Synthesizer products are the right combination of technology and craftsmanship, worthy of the best tradition of electronic liuteria.
For us it is important to keep the sound and design characteristics constant over time in order to make synthesizer synthesizers unique and to maintain high quality even for future entry level models.
Business philosophy aims to project these commitments into work to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Qosmo Modular strong> is a small scale manufacturer of high quality synthesizer modules, based in Rome (Italy). The idea to build synthesizers came to the first time years ago thanks to a first collaboration between a computer engineer and several musicians of the electronic scene in Rome. From initial ideas begin to emerge some demands from the musicians, as embodied in the range of modules offered by Qosmo.
The key concepts are very simple: to have robust and durable modules with features that are inspired by the classic modular synthesizer but with a sound that is fat and full-bodied. Plus, keep everything as simple as possible, but without sacrificing functionality.
The choice of using THT components may seem old-fashioned these days, but this allows to have the maximum reliability in terms of thermal and mechanical stresses. Furthermore we can keep under control the entire manufacturing process, from design to assembly.
Modules are available in eurorack format with a beatiful aluminum panel with silver finish. All the components are high quality and selected from the best brands on the market.
