Instruō cruïnn is an analog stereo oscillator that uses through-zero phase modulation to generate rich, deep, constantly moving textures. It is designed to create a harmonic "swarm" of sawtooth: from ultra-dense supersaw to lush pads, phasey basses and chaotic effects, while maintaining very musical control over the behavior of movement in stereo.
Starting with a single sawtooth core, cruïnn generates five additional phase-shifted saw variations in parallel. Each variant is controlled by its own internal discrete-triangle LFO, so the movement is complex, layered and "organic." On-board controls and external control inputs allow modulation of rate and depth, moving from subtle animations to extreme instabilities.
With the included 4HP passive expander you get access to all six waveforms. What's more, you can individually phase shift the phase of each waveform via CV: this way cruïnn becomes an "amorphous" generator of harmonically rich saw, perfect for stereo layering, complex detunes, and sound design on the go.
In addition to stereo and summed (summed) outputs, cruïnn includes a built-in stereo VCA to manage dynamics and amplitude directly in the module. The presence of linear and exponential FM further expands the timbral range, while the ability to work in LFO regime adds utility in modulation patches and slow motion.
