The Schoeps MK 4V is a cardioid condenser microphone capsule designed for the Schoeps Colette modular system. Unlike the conventional MK 4, the MK 4V features a side-address configuration, with the main axis oriented laterally with respect to the microphone body.

This feature makes it particularly useful in installations where the orientation of the microphone is constrained by the suspension or stand, such as in broadcast systems, advanced stereo configurations, or orchestral filming.

Cardioid side-address capsule for Schoeps Colette system

The Schoeps MK4V capsule offers an extremely stable cardioid polar response across the entire frequency spectrum due to its acoustically transparent design. This allows it to maintain a very controlled behavior even at high frequencies, reducing the unwanted emphasis of off-axis sounds compared to many conventional cardioid capsules.

The result is a natural and precise pickup, particularly suitable for high-quality music recordings and professional broadcast applications.

Optimized for orchestra, dialogue and stereo setups

The MK 4V was developed in response to the demand for a side-axis cardioid capsule useful in many professional recording applications.

Radial alignment with dedicated O-ring

When used with amplifiers such as CMC 1 U in suspensions with fixed XLR orientation (e.g., OSIX systems or Cyclone configurations), the capsule orientation cannot be freely rotated. For this reason, Schoeps includes a radial alignment O-ring to stabilize the capsule in the desired position.

Compatibility with Schoeps modular system
