WesAudio Hyperion 500 series parametric equalizer

The WesAudio Hyperion is a 500 series analog parametric equalizer designed for professional mixing and mastering applications. It combines an all-analog audio chain with advanced digital control and total recall, offering the best of both worlds: analog sound quality and modern DAW-integrated workflow.

With +24 dBu headroom, Hyperion provides ample dynamics and extremely clean signal handling, ideal for processing on stereo buses, groups or individual tracks.

High-precision 4-band equalizer

Hyperion incorporates a four-band parametric EQ designed to offer great sonic flexibility. Each band allows precise adjustment with selectable range of ±5 dB or ±15 dB, accommodating both surgical operations and more pronounced sound shaping.

Detailed frequency control

The bands operate over frequency ranges optimized for mixing:

• High band: 2 kHz to 25 kHz with bell or shelf mode
• High-Mid band: 600 Hz to 8 kHz with full Q control
• Low-Mid band: 200 Hz to 2.5 kHz with Q control
• Low band: 30 Hz to 350 Hz with bell or shelf mode

Each band also has an independent bypass to quickly compare changes and optimize adjustments.

Stereo, Dual Mono and Mid-Side Modes

The WesAudio Hyperion supports three operating modes:

• Stereo for processing on the main bus
• Dual Mono for handling the two channels independently
• Mid-Side for advanced stereo image control.

This flexibility makes the Hyperion an extremely powerful tool in both mixing and mastering.

Digital control and full DAW integration

Like all ng500 series devices, Hyperion offers Total Recall and full control via VST2, VST3, AU, AAX and AAX DSP compatible plugins. All parameters can be saved and recalled directly in the DAW session.

The 12 touch-sensitive encoders also allow recording automations in real time, making integration between analog hardware and digital production extremely smooth.

THD and controllable analog character

The THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) feature allows you to add harmonic saturation to the signal for more analog presence and character. This feature allows you to enrich the mix with musical coloration while maintaining precise control of the signal.

Filters and signal monitoring

Hyperion integrates a high-pass filter with selectable slopes of 6 dB/Oct or 12 dB/Oct to effectively handle unwanted low frequencies.

The IN/OUT metering system with clip detection provides accurate signal level monitoring, while the A/B compare function allows you to quickly compare two different configurations.
