PSP Audioware PSP Studio Classics: Delay & Reverb is a bundle that brings together two of the most highly regarded plug-ins for recreating classic studio effects: the Lexicon PSP42 delay and the PSP 2445 EMT reverb. Designed for mixing, music production, sound design, and post-production, this package offers the character of the most iconic digital hardware units with all the flexibility of a modern software environment.
The Lexicon PSP42 reproduces the behavior of the famous Lexicon PCM42, one of the most iconic digital delays ever made. In addition to the characteristic tape-style saturation and the unique modulation achieved by varying the sample rate, this version introduces an even more accurate modeling of the original audio path.
The plug-in lets you choose from different operating modes: ranging from a completely clean signal path (Clean) to a full emulation of optical limiters, A/D and D/A converters, and the nonlinearities typical of the original hardware (Full). This allows you to adapt the delay’s character to any production, from the most transparent to a distinctly vintage sound.
PSP42 offers delay times of up to 28.8 seconds, synchronization to the DAW’s tempo, LFO modulation, a built-in phrase sampler, sidechain, filters, various repeat modes, and numerous additional features that greatly expand the creative possibilities compared to the original hardware unit.
The PSP 2445 EMT draws inspiration from the legendary EMT 244 and EMT 245, two reverb units that have left their mark on the history of professional production. The result is a reverb with a musical character, tonally positioned between classic spring reverbs and plate or chamber reverbs, ideal for enhancing vocals, drums, acoustic instruments, and synthesizers.
The implemented algorithms are derived from the original designs of Dr. Barry Blesser, a key figure in the development of digital reverb. Direct collaboration with the original designer and official approval from EMT Studiotechnik ensure behavior that is extremely faithful to the historic hardware processors.
