Maag Audio PREQ4-500: 500 Series Preamp with Air Band®

The Maag Audio PREQ4-500 is a compact microphone preamp in 500 Series format, a direct upgrade of the PREQ3. It offers an ideal combination of sonic transparency and timbral control through the integration of Maag Audio's renowned Air Band®. With a maximum gain of 65 dB, it is perfect for recording sessions with ribbon microphones or low-output sources.

Intuitive controls and musical filtering

The PREQ4 is equipped with LED switches for 48V phantom, phase inversion, -20 dB attenuator, and smooth slope high-pass filter (-3 dB @ 70 Hz). The gain switch provides a choice of two ranges (+25-45 dB / +45-65 dB), while the microphone gain control is continuous and flanked by LEDs for signal present and peak.

Air Band®: brilliance without harshness

The Air Band® section includes a 6-position switch (2.5, 5, 10, 20, 40 kHz) with up to +12 dB boost, offering airy brilliance perfect for vocals, acoustic guitars and percussion, without introducing harshness. All features are designed to offer instant control and musical response in any tracking context.
