The Retro Instruments 176 is a mono tube compressor based on the legendary Universal Audio 176, with major improvements that expand its functionality while retaining its distinctive sonic character. It uses an authentic Vari-Mu circuit that gives punch, warmth and three-dimensionality to vocals, acoustic instruments and stereo mixes.

Advanced features for maximum control

The front panel offers a complete set of professional controls: the Active/Bypass switch allows immediate comparison between treated and original signal; the Asymmetry switch adjusts the behavior of the detector on signal phases, optimizing the response on content with phase peaks; and the Interstage switch allows you to engage or disengage the transformer between stages, modifying the response on high frequencies.
