Natural surround imaging with five-capsule array

The DPA 5100 uses five miniature pressure transducers designed to offer low distortion, wide dynamic range and extended frequency response. This configuration enables accurate capture of the sound environment and spatial depth of the scene.

The three front microphones are temporally aligned to eliminate comb filter effects and ensure consistent response even when the signal is converted to stereo or mono. The rear microphones, on the other hand, are positioned to naturally simulate differences in sound arrival, creating a smooth and realistic surround environment.
