Fieldtone 's WeaverModular brings the idea of the Weaver handheld to Eurorack format: not just a sampler, but an instrument designed to embrace chance and impermanence. At the heart of the module is a "one-knob" approach (with CV extensions) that reorganizes 2-second sound fragments into hypnotic loops, unstable rhythmic patterns, and evolving textures.
There is no such thing as "undo" here: once you capture a sound, the Weaver pushes you forward, shaping the unpredictable into groove or atmosphere with a simple turn of the control or variations in control voltage. Perfect for those seeking a creative, performative and ever-changing module, from sound design to the most generative techno.
You can capture audio on the fly via built-in microphone or via jack input. The sampling time is fixed (2 seconds): a choice that makes the Weaver immediate and performance-oriented, ideal for "stealing" micro-phrases from vocals, guitar, percussion or electronic sources and turning them into rhythmic or ambient material.
One of the most powerful features of the modular version is the ability to trigger the start of the recording via CV/Gate: you can keep replacing the sample while the loop plays continuously, resulting in organic transitions and continuous variations. With acoustic sources (voice, strings, objects) the result is particularly musical and "alive."
Weaver Modular integrates a Texture/Rhythm switch to direct the behavior of the engine toward soundscapes and spatial movement, or toward more percussive and repetitive structures. In addition, the Root/Random pitch switch allows you to choose between more "sympathetic" playback relative to a reference note or more random pitch management.
In addition to the audio part, the Weaver Modular can become a true random rhythm generator: it includes 3 gate/trigger outputs that can drive other modules (envelope, drum, sequencer, switch, etc.). And the interesting thing is that you can exploit it even without using sampling, as a source of unpredictable but musical pulses.
The Eurorack version adds independent level controls for 3 elements of the loop, so you can balance components and detail of the result, going from dry, rhythmic patterns to denser, more ambient layering.
The output is stereo on separate L/R connectors, with rich spatial imaging and natural movement-perfect for those working with panoramas, stereo modules, reverbs, and delays. To integrate it into live and DAWless setups find also Clock input for external sync.
