The Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer is an innovative spring reverb in which the springs are deliberately exposed, allowing the musician to physically interact with them by playing, hitting or manipulating them for unique sound effects. It is not just a reverb: it incorporates a pre-amp, a versatile multi-mode filter, and an LFO, making it capable of both creating sounds independently and processing external audio with distinctive manual modulation of the reverb.

Unparalleled Sound Modulation and Flexibility

This instrument offers a rich and dynamic sound experience. The built-in pre-amp provides up to 10x gain, preparing the signal for a wide variety of uses. The heart of the system is its three-spring reverb, equipped with a wet/dry crossfader that allows the reverb signal to be mixed with the pre-amp signal, which can be controlled either manually or by CV or expression pedal. This feature is critical for shaping the decay of the reverb in real time, adding a tactile and organic level of expression.

Multimodal Filter and LFO for Advanced Sound Design

The analog state variable filter is a powerful sound design tool, with a continuous crossover between Lowpass, Bandpass and Highpass, and controls for Cutoff and Resonance (the latter without limiter, for sonic extremes). You can mix the filtered signal with the original signal via a knob or a CV/Expression pedal input. This filter is incredibly useful for sculpting the sound of the springs you play, allowing you to create from deep, ominous rumbles to high, strident frequencies. The built-in LFO, with Rate and crossover control between square and triangular waveforms, can be routed internally to the filter or used externally through its dedicated output.

The Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer is also extremely flexible in terms of connectivity, with extensive CV / Expression pedal options on the rear panel. It has CV inputs for LFO speed control, filter mix, VCF mode and cutoff, and reverb mix. There is also a CV output for the LFO, allowing smooth integration into your modular setup or with other instruments.
