Maag Audio PREQ2-500: 500 Series Preamplifier with Air Band

The Maag Audio PREQ2-500 is a single-channel microphone preamplifier in 500 Series format, replicating the circuitry of the prestigious PREQ2 dual channel. Featuring a nickel-core input transformer, it offers up to 71 dB of fully Class A gain, with excellent performance even on very quiet sources or ribbon microphones.

Air Band® and versatile controls at your fingertips

The iconic Air Band® allows up to +9 dB of boost on five selectable frequencies (2.5, 5, 10, 20, 40 kHz) for airy, transparent treble extension. Also on the front panel are -20 dB pads, 70 Hz high-pass filter, phase inverter, 48V phantom power, and continuous gain control with selectable dual range.

Instruments, reamps and creative routing

The ¼" front input allows direct connection of instruments with 1 MΩ impedance, while the unbalanced and isolated thru output allows reamping to amplifiers or pedals. An ideal solution for those seeking flexibility in the studio without compromising signal.
