Solid State Logic Revival 4000: the sound of legendary consoles

Revival 4000 is a 1U analog channel strip that embodies the unmistakable sound of the SSL 4000 Series consoles of the early 1980s. A sound that has defined decades of music with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Prince, U2 and many others. Based on original circuitry from the B and E consoles, this channel strip brings the SSL legacy to every modern studio.

Jensen Transformer Mic Preamp from the 4000 E Series.

The Revival 4000 includes the famous Jensen transformer-balanced JT-115K-E preamp, offering rich, defined sound delivery. The same circuit is found in the historic SSL E Series channel strips.

De-Esser 4000 B: precise control of high frequencies.

The De-Esser section uses the original 4000 B console circuit, with 10:1 ratio and 7 kHz high-pass filter on the sidechain, ideal for taming vocals, cymbals or bright sources without affecting musicality.

VCA Class A compressor with gate and expander

The dynamics of the Revival 4000 faithfully replicate the compressor/gate section of the 4000 E, including an RMS sidechain and discrete gain reduction. With soft/hard knee mode, fast attack, logarithmic or linear release, it allows total and musical control.

4-band parametric equalizer with iconic SSL circuits.

The classic SSL EQ includes "Brown Knob" (02) and "Black Knob" (242) options, both beloved for their musicality. The mids are fully parametric, while the highs and lows can be bell or shelving, with selectable high/low pass filters.

Advanced routing and versatility in the studio

With balanced insert, external sidechain, stereo link and flexible routing options, the Revival 4000 is designed to integrate seamlessly into modern setups. Perfect for both single channels and stereo pairs.
