The DPA 4660 CORE+ Heavy Duty Omni Mic is a miniaturized lavalier microphone designed for professional broadcast, theater, video production and direct-take applications. This Heavy Duty version offers extremely rugged construction while maintaining the benchmark sound quality that distinguishes DPA microphones.

Thanks to its extremely precise omnidirectional capsule, the DPA 4660 does not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve a natural and detailed capture. This makes it particularly effective in capturing voice in contexts such as interviews, television production, theater and environmental recordings.

The microphone can handle sound pressure levels up to 134 dB SPL before distortion, ensuring a wide dynamic range and high reliability even in complex sound environments.

Heavy Duty construction for intensive professional use

The Heavy Duty series is designed for situations where maximum ruggedness is required. The body of the microphone is made of stainless steel, while the 2.2 mm cable is Kevlar-reinforced and equipped with a strain relief system designed to withstand twisting, pulling, and intensive daily use.

This construction makes the microphone particularly suitable for demanding applications such as live shows, theatrical productions, and broadcast uses where reliability is paramount.

Protection against moisture and sweat

The microphone incorporates the Double Vent Protection system, designed to protect the capsule from sweat, moisture and harsh environmental conditions. This system helps maintain consistent performance even during prolonged use or in particularly demanding environments.

Interchangeable grids to shape frequency response

The DPA 4660 comes with two interchangeable grids that allow the acoustic response of the microphone to be tailored to the application:

• SoftBoost Grid: soft boost of about 3 dB between 8 and 20 kHz
• High Boost Grid: increase of about 10 dB around 12 kHz

Both grids are made of anodized stainless steel and can be easily removed for cleaning by sweat, dust or makeup.

Compatibility with professional wireless systems

The microphone is available with a variety of connectors including MicroLock, MicroDot, TA4F Mini-XLR, LEMO and Mini-Jack. Thanks to DPA's modular adapter system, it can be used with most professional wireless systems.
