The WesAudio ngTubeEQ is a stereo analog tube equalizer designed to combine the sonic character of classic tube equalizers with the flexibility of modern digital workflow. The all-analog audio path ensures a warm, musical, three-dimensional sound, while the digital control enables instant recall, automation, and full DAW integration.
Thanks to its inductor-based architecture and construction with high-quality analog components, the ngTubeEQ is an ideal tool for mixing, mastering and processing individual tracks.
At the heart of the WesAudio ngTubeEQ is a fully passive equalization section built around custom inductors. This classic design is known for its musical and natural behavior, allowing frequencies to be shaped without introducing artifacts or harshness into the sound.
The four EQ bands cover a wide spectrum from 22 Hz to 28 kHz, offering great precision in shaping low, mid and high frequencies.
Each equalizer band has 12 selectable frequency points and can operate in either Bell or Shelf mode. The bands can be individually switched or bypassed for extremely flexible EQ management.
In this mode the bandwidth automatically narrows as the boost increases, allowing more musical and focused interventions on selected frequencies.
Constant Q mode, on the other hand, maintains a constant bandwidth regardless of boost or cut level, offering extremely precise frequency control.
In addition to the four passive bands, the ngTubeEQ includes fully adjustable active high-pass and low-pass filters. Both filters can operate at 12 dB/oct or 24 dB/oct slopes and can be fully bypassed to keep the signal completely neutral.
The device offers three operating configurations to suit any production context:
Mid-Side mode allows precise intervention in the stereo image of the mix, enhancing depth and width of the soundscape.
The WesAudio ngTubeEQ includes two different output stages to suit the desired sonic character:
Provides a cleaner, more defined and transparent sound, ideal for applications requiring precision and neutrality.
This mode uses the tube amplification stage and Carnhill transformer to add analog warmth and harmonic saturation. The IRON PAD control allows the circuit to be driven for more sonic color.
The proprietary THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) circuit allows you to introduce adjustable harmonic saturation. This function can be completely bypassed or used to add character and density to the signal.
The system offers 100 adjustment steps, allowing extremely precise interventions on saturation.
The digital control system allows the equalizer to be fully managed via DAW plug-ins with immediate recall of all parameters. This makes the ngTubeEQ perfect for modern workflows where complex configurations need to be quickly recalled.
The device also supports up to 100 internal presets, allowing settings to be saved directly in hardware even without plug-ins.
With USB and Ethernet connectivity, the ngTubeEQ can be easily integrated into any studio. You can automate parameters directly from the DAW or record automations via hardware controls.
