Supercardioid directionality with excellent isolation

The optimized supercardioid polar pattern provides strong attenuation of sounds coming from the sides and rear, improving gain before feedback and reducing contamination from other sound sources on stage.

Unlike many conventional supercardioid microphones, the DPA capsule maintains an extremely natural and controlled off-axis response, avoiding unwanted coloration of sound.

Linear capsule for maximum mix control

The 4018VL version features an extremely linear frequency response. This design choice makes it especially popular with sound engineers who prefer to shape timbre directly from the mixing desk.

Compared to the 4018V version with slight emphasis on high frequencies, the linear version offers a neutral starting point ideal for professional live applications and broadcast productions.
