The Schoeps A 20 is a classic spring suspension designed for Schoeps microphones with a diameter of 20 mm, such as the CMC 6 preamplifier of the Colette modular system. This stand has been used for decades in professional applications and is particularly suitable for studio recordings with reduced levels of structural vibration.
The A 20 suspension represents the traditional Schoeps design for mounting microphones. While it offers good vibration isolation, the level of decoupling is lower than newer models such as the Schoeps AC 20. For this reason it is recommended primarily in controlled environments such as recording studios.
Following a redesign in 2011, the A 20 suspension has been updated with an extremely durable metal body and a clip made of sturdy, scratch-resistant modern plastic designed for long-term reliability.
The stand allows the angle of the microphone to be adjusted to achieve ideal positioning during recording. It also includes a convenient cable lock, which helps reduce noise caused by movement of the microphone cable.
The suspension base has a 5/8"-27 female thread, standard for most professional microphone stands. Adapters for 3/8" and 1/2" threads are included, ensuring compatibility with many stands and stands.
