While maintaining an extremely compact design, the Telefunken M80-SH retains all the features that have made the M80 one of the most popular dynamic microphones among musicians, sound engineers, and recording studios. The wide and detailed frequency response ensures natural reproduction of sound sources, with a particularly defined presence in the mid and high frequencies.
The result is an open and transparent sound that approaches the typical characteristics of a condenser microphone, while maintaining the ruggedness and reliability of a dynamic capsule.
The supercardioid polar pattern offers excellent rejection of side noise and feedback, a feature particularly important during live performances. This configuration allows you to effectively isolate the desired sound source, improving the clarity of the mix and reducing interference from the surrounding environment.
With a handling capacity of up to 135 dB SPL, the Telefunken M80-SH can be used without issue on particularly energetic instruments such as snare drums, toms, guitar amplifiers, percussion, and wind instruments. At the heart of the M80-SH lies the same low-mass 25 mm dynamic capsule used in the standard model, paired with the custom Telefunken T80 transformer. This combination ensures superior sensitivity compared to many traditional dynamic microphones and an extremely precise and musical response.
