Erica Synths EDU DIY Snare Drum is a DIY module in Eurorack format designed to deliver a punchy, punchy snare, a fundamental element along with the kick to build the rhythmic backbone of any groove. Developed as part of the second percussive season of the mki x es.EDU educational series, this snare perfectly complements the Kick and Hi-Hat modules already in the line.
After careful fine-tuning, the result is an analog snare drum with a strong character, capable of ranging from dry, sharp hits to more full-bodied and articulate sounds, ideal for techno, electro, house and modern electronic productions.
The module offers manual and CV control of Tune, with dedicated attenuator to adjust modulation depth. The Attack and Decay parameters allow you to define the envelope of the hit, while the Snappy control-also modulatable via CV-allows you to blend the tonal component with the noise, achieving a precise crossfade between body and typical snare drum "whiplash."
The Accent input adds dynamics and articulation to patterns, making the module perfect for more expressive rhythmic sequences.
Developed by Erica Synths in collaboration with Moritz Klein, the mki x es.EDU series was created with the goal of teaching analog synthesizer circuit design even to those starting from scratch. Each kit guides the user step by step in understanding circuit choices and their impact on the final sound.
The kits include in-depth manuals that can be downloaded separately. Due to the DIY nature of the product, no technical support is provided for any problems arising from assembly.
