USTA (Used) is a Eurorack sequencer designed to bring out voltage and rhythm relationships in a visual, immediate, and performable way. The idea is simple: give the patch a "track to follow" and allow you to build compositions by heart, without having to plan everything in advance.

4×4 architecture: four tracks, plus CV and Gate per step

USTA is a 4×4 sequencer: each Stage can handle up to four streams (two CVs and two Gates) and the sequences are organized in an orderly fashion: 16 Stages form a Pattern, 16 Patterns form a Track, and 4 Tracks make up a Project. So you can quickly go from extemporaneous ideas to complete structures.

Variable Stage Duration: "musical," not grid-based timing

The concept of Variable Stage Duration is one of the highlights: the duration of each individual step can be set in relation to the clock, without being constrained to "one step per pulse." Result: syncopation, irregular patterns, more organic grooves and odd signatures (odd time) with great naturalness.

Hands-on editing: 16 encoders + LED feedback per performance

Each Stage has a dedicated encoder for quick and intuitive editing, with oval layout and circular playhead. LED rings and RGB LED show in real time what you are editing (raw CV, quantized CV, length, gate, etc.) and how the step will be played.

Layers & Colors: "color" your sequences.

USTA offers a large set of options for defining and transforming each output: Layers control values and behaviors, while Colors change the way the step is read. In practice, you can easily achieve: glide/bound, ratcheting, step "skips," variations, and nondestructive transformations.

Quantization, scaling and microtuning (including non-western)

You can quantize each track independently (root/scale) and stay in tune even with active modulations. If you want, you can also work in raw CV (unquantized) for arbitrary high-resolution functions, or explore alternative temperaments and custom scales.

Pattern / Song mode + multi-target modulations

Move from an improvised approach (pattern, loop, and live recall) to solid structures with Song Mode. In addition, CV inputs can be assigned to multiple destinations (e.g., pitch shift, gate shift, stage shift, root/phase/pattern shift), making USTA a truly powerful tool for composition and performance.
