The module is a faithful clone in every way to MUTABLE INSTRUMENTS' " Rings module and as such brings the synthesis of physical modeling into your Eurorack system, like models of the same brand Braids or Elements .
Rings is a resonator, ready to be excited by a click on the envelope ( strum.): trigger pulses, gates, granular noise or any other audio source produced by your modular system is sufficient to produce a sound tuned to the frequency set by the cv/oct port.
The module simulates three families of resonant structures, with parameters fully controllable in analog mode
(Volts/oct.) Strings, membranes (MODE GREEN LED) and tubes modeled by the resonator section of Elements (modal synthesis).
Strings coupled (MODE YELLOW LED) together and vibrating in sympathy, with controllable intervals between them.
Strings with a variable amount of inharmonicity (MODE LED RED)) (like a music box) Rings can be configured so that each new note is played on its own virtual string, while the previously played note continues to decay.
This function enables a module to play properly in polyphonic mode just like a guitar, harp or similar instruments.
All resonator models can be used polyphonically, with 1, 2 or 4 polyphonic voices ( LED POLY Green, Yellow, Red) over a 5-octave range. Each model provides a unified set of parameters, all voltage-controlled, with an attenuator.-
Frequency functions as a tuning on the pitch control of the sound produced. INPUTS OUTPUTS One Audio input that accepts modular level signals, up to 16 Vpp.
Two audio outputs, which separate even/odd parts in monophonic mode or even/odd notes in polyphonic mode, together with strum which as mentioned above is the excitation trigger.
