PSP Audioware PSP Flare is a compression plug-in designed to offer extremely musical and natural dynamic control over individual tracks, buses, and complete mixes. Based on an innovative probabilistic compression algorithm developed in collaboration with Italian sound engineer Paolo Pasquariello, PSP Flare was created for film and television post-production but proves equally effective in music production, mixing, and mastering.

PSP Flare’s proprietary algorithm ensures extremely smooth compression, preserving the natural character of the audio material even with significant adjustments to the dynamics. Thanks to its very wide knee and unique approach to gain reduction, the plug-in delivers transparent and controlled results on vocals, instruments, buses, and masters.

Probabilistic Compression with Peak and RMS Detection

PSP Flare lets you choose between Peak and RMS detection, easily adapting to both transient control and overall signal energy management. The wide range of Threshold and Ratio parameters makes the processor extremely versatile in any production context.

Advanced dynamics control

Lookahead, Sidechain, and Automatic Release

The Lookahead feature allows you to intercept transients before compression, improving peak control without introducing artifacts. The high-pass filter on the sidechain and automatic release also allow you to dynamically adapt the compressor’s behavior to the audio material, maintaining a natural sound at all times.

Brick-Wall Limiter and Wet/Dry Control

PSP Flare features an adjustable Brick Wall limiter that protects the output level from unwanted peaks. The Mix control, meanwhile, allows you to precisely adjust the balance between the original and compressed signals, facilitating parallel compression techniques directly within the plug-in.
