The Schoeps CMC6 + MK5 Mono Set is a modular condenser microphone from the Schoeps Colette series, designed for professional studio, broadcast and music recording applications. The set combines the CMC6 preamplifier with the MK5 capsule, which allows the selection of two different polar patterns: omnidirectional or cardioid.

Schoeps Colette modular system

The Colette modular system allows the CMC6 preamplifier to be used with numerous Schoeps MK series capsules. This modular architecture makes the system extremely versatile for sound engineers, recording studios, broadcast production, and high-end music recording.

The CMC6 preamplifier guarantees an extremely clean signal with high dynamics and a very low noise floor.

The Schoeps MK5 is an extremely versatile capsule thanks to its built-in mechanical switch that allows quick selection of two different polar patterns.

Omni mode

In omni mode, the capsule offers a very extended frequency response and natural room pickup, making it ideal for orchestral recordings, acoustic ensembles and ambient stereophonic techniques.

Cardioid mode

Cardioid mode, on the other hand, allows greater focus on the sound source, reducing sounds from the back and improving isolation in studio recordings or live situations.
