The Schoeps MiniCMIT Anthracite Grey is a compact shotgun microphone designed for professional direct-take applications in film, television and broadcast. The MiniCMIT offers the same sound quality as the renowned Schoeps CMIT 5, but in a shorter, lighter format that makes it especially suitable for compact setups and dynamic filming.
The frequency response of the MiniCMIT is identical to that of the CMIT 5 and SuperCMIT (channel 2), allowing these microphones to be used interchangeably without changing the sonic character of the recording. This consistency of timbre is particularly important in professional film and television productions.
With its short length and extremely low weight, the MiniCMIT is perfect for use on booms, compact cameras or in mobile setups. The front-lobe supercardioid polar pattern ensures precise directionality and clear pickup of dialogue or the main sound source.
The microphone incorporates a fixed 70 Hz low-cut filter with fourth-order slope (24 dB/octave), designed to reduce low-frequency noise such as boom vibrations, wind noise and ambient interference.
The MiniCMIT is especially suitable for use with digital transmitters such as the Sound Devices A20-TX. P12 power support allows for more efficient power consumption, while the latest version of the Schoeps RFI Shield provides effective protection from radio interference.
These features make the MiniCMIT an excellent choice for film productions, documentaries, television, and professional outdoor audio recordings.
