The Doepfer A-119 Ext. Input / Envelope Follower (Used) is an essential used module for integrating external audio signals within a Eurorack system. By combining a preamplifier, envelope follower, and comparator, it allows any audio source to be transformed into a powerful modulation tool.

External audio integration into the modular system

Module used for microphone, guitar and line level

The built-in preamplifier offers two inputs: an unbalanced one for line level signals with gain up to 20x, and a balanced one with gain up to 500x, perfect for microphones or instruments such as electric guitars. This makes the module extremely versatile for bringing the outside world inside your modular system.

Dynamic control with envelope follower

The envelope follower analyzes the level of the input signal and generates a proportional voltage, ideal for modulating filters, VCA or other parameters based on the dynamics of the sound.

Gate generation and visual control

Comparator for triggering and synchronization

The built-in comparator generates a gate signal when the signal exceeds an adjustable threshold, useful for creating rhythmic triggers or synchronizing events in the modular system.

Monitoring LEDs.

Three LEDs provide immediate visual feedback: overload, envelope and gate, facilitating real-time signal control.
