Used Intellijel µFold: analog wavefolder for advanced timbral synthesis

This Intellijel µFold is a used product, thoroughly tested, and in perfect working order. Developed in collaboration with David G. Dixon, the µFold is a sophisticated analog wavefolder designed to dramatically expand the harmonic content of waveforms, offering a wide range of timbres that span from subtle colorations to extremely complex and aggressive sounds.

Harmonically Rich Analog Wavefolding

Unlike traditional distortion, which clips the peaks of the signal, wavefolding progressively folds the waveform toward the center, generating rich and dynamic harmonics while maintaining an extremely musical character. The result is a lively, organic sound that’s perfect for West Coast synthesis.

Full CV Control

The FOLDS parameter features a CV input with a dedicated attenuator, while the Through-Zero SYMMETRY control offers bipolar modulation for even deeper tonal transformations. Continuous modulation of these parameters allows you to create constantly evolving sound textures.

Three wavefolding modes

The STAGES selector lets you choose between 2, 4, or 6 folding stages, radically altering the harmonic character of the signal and adapting the module to any musical context, from subtle saturation to the most extreme timbres.

Ideal with Dixie, Rubicon, and other analog oscillators

The µFold reaches its full potential when paired with the Intellijel Dixie and Rubicon oscillators, allowing you to achieve the tonal richness typical of complex West Coast oscillators while maintaining an extremely flexible modular structure. Thanks to its DC-coupled inputs, it can also process CV signals, further expanding creative possibilities.

With a width of just 6HP, the µFold delivers professional-grade performance while taking up very little space in a Eurorack case, making it ideal for both compact systems and larger sound-design setups.
