Arturia: Synths, Controllers, and Audio Interfaces

Arturia is a French company founded in Grenoble in 1999 that has developed along two distinctive and complementary paths: recreating classic instruments in software — with V Collection, its extensive selection of virtually modelled vintage synthesizers and keyboards — and designing original hardware with a strong identity. Today, Arturia is one of the most comprehensive brands in the music-production market, with a range spanning compact MIDI controllers, professional audio interfaces and high-end analogue and hybrid synthesizers.

At the top of its analogue range is the MatrixBrute: a monophonic and paraphonic analogue synthesizer with three oscillators, Steiner-Parker and Ladder analogue filters, a 16 × 16 modulation matrix and an integrated 64-step sequencer. It is one of the most ambitious instruments Arturia has ever created and one of the few modern analogue synthesizers to feature a physical matrix for controlling modulation routings, presets and sequences directly from the front panel. The MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2S Noir are semi-modular analogue synthesizers from the Brute family, equipped with patch bays compatible with Eurorack signals. The MicroFreak is one of the most original hybrid synthesizers of its generation, combining a digital oscillator with 17 synthesis modes, an analogue multimode filter and a pressure-sensitive PCB capacitive keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch and no moving parts. The MiniFreak expands this concept with six-voice polyphony, two digital sound engines, analogue filters, stereo effects and a 37-note velocity-sensitive Slim-key keyboard with aftertouch.

For sequencing and hardware control, the KeyStep Pro is the flagship model in the range, offering four independent sequencer tracks, sequences of up to 64 steps, arpeggiators, probability functions, scale quantisation and extensive MIDI, Clock and CV/Gate connectivity. The KeyStep 37 is a compact controller and sequencer with a 37-note Slim-key keyboard, arpeggiator, polyphonic sequencer and MIDI, USB and CV/Gate connectivity. The BeatStep Pro is a hardware controller and sequencer featuring two monophonic melodic sequencers, a 16-track drum sequencer and patterns of up to 64 steps, designed to control MIDI and USB instruments alongside Eurorack modular systems. 

For recording, the MiniFuse series — MiniFuse 1, MiniFuse 2, MiniFuse 4 — offers compact USB audio interfaces with conversion up to 24-bit/192 kHz, low-noise microphone preamps and a straightforward workflow. The AudioFuse Studio is a professional desktop audio interface with extensive analogue and digital connectivity, while the AudioFuse 8Pre combines eight DiscretePRO preamps with audio-interface and ADAT-expansion functionality. The DrumBrute Impact is a compact analogue drum machine with a polyrhythmic sequencer, performance effects and individual outputs for selected instruments.
