Stereo modeless spatial texturizer

  • Stereo spatial processor for Eurorack developed by Make Noise and Soundhack
  • Continuous morphing between reverbs, multi-tap delays and hybrid textures
  • "Modeless" algorithm without fixed modes or engine changes
  • Advanced stereo image control via Couple and Skew
  • Full CV control over space, diffusion, color and decay
  • Built-in envelope follower with dedicated CV output
  • Ideal for experimental sound design, ambient, dub and electronic music

The Make Noise Plexiphon is a stereo spatial texturizer for Eurorack systems developed in collaboration with Tom Erbe of Soundhack. More than a simple reverb or delay, Plexiphon represents a creative tool capable of transforming audio material into complex, deep and dynamic soundscapes, emphasizing details and harmonics often hidden in the original source.

Continuously Evolving Reverbs and Delays

Thanks to its "modeless" architecture, the Plexiphon allows continuous switching between reverbs, multi-tap echoes, and hybrid spatial textures without any mode or algorithm changes. The Plexus control simultaneously modulates the number of feedback paths and their level of interconnection, creating sound environments ranging from minimal reflections to extremely dense and organic textures.

The Size parameter acts on the temporal relationship between the paths, behaving as a delay time or room size control depending on the Plexus configuration.

Advanced Stereo Control for Modular Euroracks

Plexiphon offers extremely refined tools for stereo image management. The Couple parameter determines how much the left and right channels remain separate or interlaced, going from a dual mono configuration to fully interlaced stereo.

The Skew control, on the other hand, allows simultaneous and inverse or parallel modulation of the Plexus, Size, and Color parameters between the two stereo channels, generating complex spatial movements and very musical sound animations.

Sound Textures and Creative Sound Design

The Diffuse and Color controls allow you to sculpt the timbre of the effect over time, moving from soft, nuanced environments to brighter, more aggressive or detailed reflections. This flexibility makes the Make Noise Plexiphon perfect for ambient, dub techno, cinematic soundscapes, electronic experimentation, and creative signal manipulation.

Send Gate and Integrated Envelope Follower

The Send Gate input, normalized high or controllable via patch, allows you to determine when the signal is sent into the Plexus, facilitating dub echo techniques and dynamic rhythmic processing.

The CV Out provides a built-in envelope follower useful for reintegrating the behavior of the Plexiphon into the rest of the modular system, creating self-modulating patches and organic interactions with other Eurorack modules.

Make Noise Plexiphon for Ambient, Dub and Electronic Music.

Built on Make Noise's new digital hardware platform and powered by completely new code developed by Tom Erbe, Plexiphon is one of the most creative and experimental spatial processors available in the Eurorack format. Perfect both as a final stereo effect and as a central element of advanced modular sound design.
