The Universal Audio Apollo X4 Gen 2 AC Analog Classics is a 12 x 18 desktop Thunderbolt audio interface designed for producers, musicians, content creators, and professional studios who want the sound quality of the Apollo X Gen 2 series in a compact form factor. This version includes the UAD Analog Classics bundle, a selection of professional Universal Audio plug-ins that lets you record, mix, and produce right out of the box with the sonic character of the most iconic analog gear in music history.
The four Unison™ microphone preamps let you record in real time using Universal Audio’s renowned emulations. Thanks to proprietary Unison technology, the impedance, gain, and circuit behavior of historic analog preamps and channel strips are faithfully reproduced.
With compatible plug-ins, you can record directly with the sonic character of gear from Neve, API, Avalon, Manley, SSL, and many other leading professional audio brands.
The Apollo X Gen 2 platform features completely redesigned A/D and D/A converters that deliver superior dynamic range, extremely low distortion, and even more faithful reproduction of your recorded material. Conversion up to 24-bit / 192 kHz delivers reference-grade performance for any professional production.
The improved D/A monitoring achieves a dynamic range of 129 dB, offering greater precision during recording, mixing, and mastering.
The QUAD Core DSP processor allows you to use Universal Audio plug-ins during recording with virtually zero latency. Compressors, equalizers, channel strips, reverbs, delays, dynamic processors, and amplifiers can be loaded directly onto the DSP without taxing the computer’s CPU.
The UAD Analog Classics bundle includes a selection of professional plug-ins dedicated to recording, mixing, and mastering, offering compressors, equalizers, channel strips, reverbs, virtual instruments, and effects that let you achieve professional-level productions from your very first project.
Auto-Gain automatically adjusts the preamps to their ideal level in just a few seconds, speeding up session setup and reducing the risk of clipping. Apollo Monitor Correction, developed in collaboration with Sonarworks®, allows you to calibrate monitors and headphones for an extremely linear and reliable response during mixing.
The Bass Management feature lets you easily integrate a subwoofer into your monitoring setup, improving control over low frequencies in both music production and multimedia applications.
The UAD Console app lets you control routing, ultra-low-latency monitoring, Plug-In Scenes, Auto-Gain, and Bass Management from a single, intuitive interface. Integration with LUNA offers a workflow inspired by analog consoles while maintaining all the flexibility of modern DAWs.
Apollo X4 Gen 2 AC Analog Classics is compatible with LUNA, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live, and leading professional audio workstations available for Mac and Windows.
You can connect up to four Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces to achieve up to 128 channels of professional I/O. Apollo X4 is therefore an ideal solution both as the centerpiece of a desktop studio and as part of a larger Apollo system designed for professional productions.
