Morphing controller between snapshots with wooden wheels for Warthog
The Adamsynths Mood Wheels are two wooden control wheels designed for the Warthog system: they’re used to morph between snapshots and to modulate the morphing process itself. With the Mood Wheels, you can completely reshape the sound of your Warthog within a single patch, making your music more expressive and vibrant. The name is no coincidence: they’re called MOOD and not MOD because it’s not just about modulation, but about shaping the mood of the sound.
The two wheels operate in a complementary manner. Wheel B performs morphing between snapshots, while Wheel A adjusts the depth of the CV input, whose value is added to that of Wheel B. Together, they offer sensitive and precise control, transforming transitions between snapshots into fluid musical gestures—to be played just as you would play an instrument.
The wooden wheels provide direct, tactile contact with the system: instead of recalling a snapshot with a button, you can gradually transition through different sonic states, pause midway, or go back, following the flow of the song or your improvisation.
Thanks to the CV input, morphing isn’t just manual—it can also be driven by external modulations. You can connect an LFO, one of the Central Unit’s CV outputs, or any other control voltage source, while Wheel A adjusts its intensity. Mood Wheels thus integrate seamlessly even into the most complex modulation setups, adding automatic movement to sound changes.
From the Central Unit’s snapshot menu, you can record snapshots based on the current position of Wheel B to precisely recall specific sound states. As a result, morphing between multiple snapshots—spaced along the wheel’s travel—becomes a natural process.
