Keyboard Wavetable Synthesizer with 24 Voices

  • 24-voice polyphony and 4-part multitimbral operation
  • 5-octave Fatar keyboard, semi-weighted, with velocity and aftertouch
  • 3 digital oscillators per voice: classic PPG wavetables, modern high-resolution wavetables, and analog-modeled waveforms
  • Dual filters: Dave Rossum 2140 analog filter and SEM-style state-variable filter
  • Built-in Wavemaker™ for creating custom wavetables from samples
  • Pattern-based sequencer for notes, songs, and parameters, with a dedicated arpeggiator
  • Modulation matrix with 16 assignable slots, 27 sources, and 114 destinations

The Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave 24K is a wavetable keyboard synthesizer with an epic, modern sound, capable of delivering up to 24-voice polyphony and 4-part multitimbral operation—it’s like having four independent synthesizers at your fingertips. The 5-octave Fatar keyboard, which is semi-weighted and sensitive to velocity and aftertouch, ensures immediate expressiveness in every performance, whether in the studio or live.

Each voice features 3 configurable oscillators, ranging from PPG-era wavetables to modern high-resolution wavetables and analog-modeled waveforms. With the Wavemaker™ tool, you can create up to 64 custom wavetables by sampling any audio source directly from the dedicated input: simply connect the source and press a key to generate a new wavetable, making wavetable synthesis more accessible and experimental than ever.

Dual Analog Filters for Complex Sound Textures

The 3rd Wave 24K’s sound engine builds on the concept of classic digital wavetable synths, bringing it into the present with a rich, organic sound. The 2140 analog low-pass filter, designed by Dave Rossum, offers a slope of 24 dB per octave with variable saturation, while the second SEM-style state-variable filter adds low-pass, high-pass, notch, and band-pass modes. The two filters can be routed in series for even more complex harmonic textures.

4-Part Multitimbrality for Complex Performances

The 24-voice polyphony really comes into its own in multitimbral mode: up to 4 independent parts, each with dedicated sound, sequence, and effects, or 4 separate split zones to be played directly on the keyboard. Each stereo part features panning, volume, and a dedicated physical stereo output, while the 3 wavetable oscillators per voice/part each have their own loopable 6-stage wave envelope, for an ever-evolving soundscape.

Sequencer and Modulation Matrix for Sound Design

The 3rd Wave 24K’s pattern-based sequencer handles both notes and parameters, with real-time recording achieved simply by holding down the Record button and turning a knob. Each multitimbral part has its own sequencer track, while the modulation matrix—with 16 free slots, 12 fixed routes, 27 sources, and 114 destinations—offers flexibility comparable to a modular system.
