Desktop dual tape/slicer/granular looper with 7 CV and MIDI
Synthux Academy Spotykach is an innovative dual-deck performance looper designed to transform any sound source into new textures, rhythms, and soundscapes. Whether it’s a synthesizer, a drum machine, an ambient recording, or a voice, Spotykach offers intuitive tools for recording, manipulating, and reinventing audio material in real time.
Born from the fusion of 1960s magnetic tape aesthetics, 1990s digital slicing techniques, and contemporary generative approaches, Spotykach was developed for electronic musicians, live performers, and sound designers seeking a tool capable of generating ever-new and surprising results.
Each independent stereo deck allows you to record and process separate loops, creating complex rhythmic structures and soundscapes through an extremely intuitive, experimentation-oriented workflow.
Reel Mode emulates the behavior of vintage tape machines, allowing for continuous recording, overdubbing, reverse playback, and organic manipulation of audio material. Ideal for performances with a warm and unpredictable character.
Slice transforms any recording into a dynamic rhythmic source, breaking the audio down into segments that can be rearranged, retriggered, and reinterpreted in real time to create complex grooves and patterns.
With Drift, Spotykach enters the realm of granular synthesis, generating variations in pitch, tempo, and density that transform simple recordings into ethereal soundscapes, drones, and ever-evolving landscapes.
The 12 touch pads, inspired by magnetic tape splices, offer direct, physical interaction with the audio material, eliminating the need for complex menus. Every gesture becomes an integral part of the performance.
With 7 CV inputs, Gate I/O, analog synchronization, and full MIDI support, Spotykach integrates seamlessly into both standalone desktop setups and Eurorack modular ecosystems. Although not a 3U module, it is designed to sit naturally alongside modular systems as the creative hub of the performance.
Each deck features internal modulation sources with various waveforms and dedicated envelope followers. This allows you to create autonomous sonic evolutions without the need for external modules, while still maintaining signal levels compatible with the Eurorack ecosystem.
The open-source firmware based on Daisy Seed makes Spotykach a constantly evolving platform. Users can update the device via USB-C, install alternative firmware, and contribute to the community’s development.
