Line + gradient directivity for long-distance live recording

The BP4071 combines a gradient directional capsule with an interference tube that attenuates sounds coming from the sides and rear. The very narrow pickup pattern allows you to isolate the voice of an actor or interviewee even when the microphone is off-camera, maintaining excellent intelligibility in noisy environments.

80 Hz high-pass filter, 10 dB pad, and RF protection

The 80 Hz high-pass filter, with a slope of 18 dB/octave, reduces sensitivity to low-frequency noise: traffic, ventilation systems, room reverberation, and mechanical vibrations transmitted by the boom or the microphone. The switchable -10 dB pad prevents clipping with very loud sources. The circuitry also protects the signal from interference caused by nearby cell phones and other unwanted radio frequencies.

Aluminum alloy body and included accessories

The lightweight yet rugged structural aluminum alloy body weighs only 136 g and mounts easily on a boom pole, camera, or tripod. Included in the package are the AT8405a mount for 5/8"-27 threaded booms with a 3/8"-16 adapter, the AT8147 foam windscreen, two O-rings, and a protective carrying case. The BP4071 complies with the RoHS directive.
