Erica Syn ths Steampipe is an 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer that breaks the mold: instead of classic oscillators, it uses a physical modeling engine that mimics the way sound arises in wind and string instruments. The result is an organic timbre that is dynamic and rich in harmonics, ideal for those seeking expressive and not "static" sounds.
Designed for performance, Steampipe is optimized for MIDI wind controllers (wind controllers), but also works great with any MIDI keyboard. From ethereal, "airy" pads to rougher, more industrial sounds, the character always remains musical, with an almost "acoustic" feel but capable of pushing the limits of real instruments.
At the heart of Steampipe is an engine with 32 adjustable parameters that allow detailed control over the "physical" behavior of the sound source. You can build believable emulations of real instruments or go way beyond that, creating impossible registers and extreme timbral transformations: imagine a flute or clarinet playing in C1 or C7.
The sound palette covers a wide range of imagery: puffs and light clouds, fairground organs, railway horns and large alien environments. It is a perfect instrument for cinematic, ambient, experimental electronics, and for those who want a polyphonic synthesizer with an offbeat personality.
Steampipe includes 5 assignable LFOs with delay and sync, as well as an extensive modulation matrix with configurations designed for specific MIDI controllers as well. In addition, all parameters are controllable via MIDI CC, making it ideal for both live setups and studio automations.
To get you started right away, find 64 factory presets and ample memory with 192 user presets. Management is convenient with preset import/export via USB, perfect for backups, libraries, and exchanging sounds between sessions and performances.
