The Koma Elektronik Dual Discrete VCA is a high-quality analog dual VCA module designed with discrete transistor cells to ensure natural behavior, low noise and minimal crosstalk. Both channels are completely independent and each has two audio inputs, allowing the module to also be used as a 4-input mixer.

Sound character and creative flexibility

Each audio input includes an analog soft clipping stage, ideal for adding warmth, saturation and harmonics to the signal. Discrete cells provide a smooth, musical response while maintaining accuracy and transparency even with complex signals or fast modulations.

Total control over VCA response

The VCA response can be adjusted from linear to exponential, allowing deep control over the dynamics of the sound. This function is perfect for exploring amplitude modulation or sculpting volume behavior in AM (Amplitude Modulation) type patches.

Intelligent routing and built-in mixer

The Dual Discrete VCA can be configured as a dual 2:1 mixer or as a unique 4:1 mixer thanks to the internal automatic routing: if output A is not connected, it is automatically summed with output B. The CV1 channel of the first VCA is normalized to +5V, allowing the CV control to be used as a volume pot in the absence of an external control signal.
