FLUX WHITE: contactless magnetic synthesis

Soma FLUX WHITE is a revolutionary touchless magnetic synthesizer that allows extremely expressive control of sound without ever touching the surface of the instrument. Inspired by the principle of the Theremin but technologically advanced, FLUX takes advantage of multipolar magnetic sensors and two magnetic arcs to drive up to 16 synthesis parameters smoothly and three-dimensionally.

Three-dimensional control and dynamic expressiveness

The X coordinate of the right bow controls pitch, the Z controls volume, while the left bow manages timbre and additional parameters through 6 polarity-sensitive poles. Bow movements, tilts and rotations provide precise and continuous mapping for a free, natural and highly musical performance.

Multiple synthesis engines and Hi-End architecture

FLUX includes various DSP engines: complex FM, distortion, physical modeling and other surreal instruments, all of which can be recalled on the fly via firmware. D/A converters and analog circuits are designed in-house by Soma to audiophile standards, with built-in spatial effects and mono, duo and polyphonic modes.
