The Make Noise GTE (Gestural Time Extractor) is an analog module designed to transform any signal into rhythmic and timing information that can be used within Eurorack systems and the New Universal Synthesizer System.
By analyzing the motion of the input signal using the Span control, the GTE can extract up to eight distinct pulses, as well as generate a GTE stream representing the speed of the signal itself. This allows gestures, sequences or modulations to be converted into complex, controllable rhythmic patterns.
The Space parameter adjusts the channel spacing and sensitivity of the module, directly affecting the responsiveness of the outputs. This allows precise control over the dynamic behavior of the system, adapting to different signal sources.
Thanks to the Clock input, the GTE can synchronize channel changes with external events, ensuring seamless integration with sequencers, clock masters, and other modules. Complex rhythmic patterns can then be easily aligned with the rest of the system.
Configured appropriately, the GTE also functions as a Channel Index Translator, allowing accurate gates to be derived from signals of compatible modules such as PoliMATHS and MultiWAVE. This function greatly expands patching and programming possibilities.
The GTE opens up new possibilities in patch programming, allowing repeatable, controllable rhythmic information to be generated from any voltage source: physical gestures, function generators, or programmed sequences. It is an ideal tool for multi-voice systems and for creating advanced rhythmic structures.
