Mixing Headphones for Immersive Formats - Includes USC Calibration Plugin
*Most studios don’t have a truly flat frequency response. They exhibit modal peaks and dips that even software can’t compensate for.
The X1 solves this problem thanks to its room-independent design and flat tuning, allowing your monitoring to rival even the flattest studios in the world.
No room treatment is necessary. The X1’s individual calibration follows you across any device. Plugin-independent.
Each X1 unit is individually tested and calibrated to correct any frequency response deviations caused by materials and acoustics. The analytical power of artificial intelligence allows you to fine-tune the X1 with an additional level of precision.
Run USC calibration as a plugin on your laptop or as direct EQ settings on any hardware, such as RME Total Mix, UA Console, MOTU Control, Neumann Monitor Mission, and any DSP audio interface or analog EQ.
The USC II plugin features studio, front-of-house (FOH), and car emulations, expertly preset by OLLO and powered by Realphones technology.
The X1’s default calibration is optimized for stereo mixing and translation. With a single click, you can switch to spatial audio mixing in binaural mode or use the renowned Harman target to cross-check your mix.
*Available only with the USC II plugin.

Calibration is the “last mile” in achieving a perfectly flat frequency response. All our headphones are carefully calibrated and measured during quality control. By measuring every single unit, we can detect any deviations in sound quality caused by material tolerances in a specific unit. Calibration corrects these characteristics and the frequency response beyond what is possible with acoustic design alone. Unit-specific calibration can achieve an incredibly low tolerance of approximately ~1 dB relative to the selected target frequency. For example, generic software calibrations such as Sonarworks Sound ID or Waves NX can only achieve approximately ~3 dB. Unit Specific Calibration II (USC II) includes a software plugin (powered by Realphones) and a calibration data file generated using the power of AI processing. The plugin is available in AU, VST, and AAX formats for Mac and Windows users and is also available as a standalone version. The calibration data file is in XPS format and allows you to manually export the exact EQ values to any third-party EQ plugin or hardware DSP; for example: RME TotalMix, Neumann Mission Control, UA Console, and others. The calibration includes:
