u-he Satin: The sound of tape, reinvented digitally

u-he Satin is a powerful tape emulation plug-in that faithfully recreates the sound characteristics of analog machines, from professional multitrack consoles to cassette recorders. Satin allows you to build your ideal tape machine-from saturated and warm sounds to extreme modulation, flanging, and compression effects. Every aspect, from desirable behaviors to typical tape faults, is under your control.

Delay, Flanging and Vintage Effects

In addition to Tape mode, Satin also offers stereo delay configurable with 2 or 4 heads, mono routing, ping-pong and cross-feedback. Flanger mode emulates real tape flanging with manual or automatic phase shift control. Ideal for psychedelic effects, vocal dubbing or creative spatialization.

Service Panel: fiddle around under the hood

In the Service panel you can adjust parameters such as hiss, wow, flutter, bias, head gap, azimuth, saturation and compression on high frequencies. Set input and output EQ circuits separately to correct old recordings or create unique sound effects. With 5 circuit models and 5 noise reduction models, Satin also becomes an audio format converter for tape-recorded materials.

Professional Features

Satin supports sample rates up to 384kHz, is compatible with Native Instruments controllers via NKS FX, and includes over 120 factory presets. The interface is resizable from 70% to 200%, with alternative skins for greater customization.

Compatibility and Technical Requirements.

Satin is available for macOS (10.10+), Windows (7+) and Linux in AUv2, VST2/3, CLAP and AAX formats. A compatible DAW host and a modern CPU are required to take full advantage of the plug-in's modeling quality.
