The Universal Audio Apollo x16D Gen 2 AC Analog Classics is a Thunderbolt audio interface designed for professional studios, networked audio installations, and live productions using the Dante® protocol. With 16 Dante channels, Apollo X’s ultra-high-quality conversion, and a built-in HEXA Core DSP processor, it lets you record, mix, and process audio in real time using Universal Audio’s renowned plug-ins.

This version includes the UAD Analog Classics bundle, offering a selection of professional Universal Audio plug-ins so you can immediately start recording and mixing with the sonic character of the most iconic analog gear in music history.

Apollo Power Meets Dante

The Apollo x16D brings Universal Audio’s renowned workflow to the world of Dante® audio networking. Its 16 channels of Dante I/O allow for seamless integration with digital consoles, broadcast systems, live event setups, and distributed recording studios, while maintaining Apollo’s sound quality and the ability to use UAD plug-ins in real time.

Thanks to AES67 compatibility and Thunderbolt connectivity, the Apollo x16D offers an extremely flexible solution for both professional live applications and next-generation audio infrastructure.

HEXA Core DSP for Real-Time Processing

The powerful HEXA Core DSP processor allows you to use compressors, equalizers, reverbs, channel strips, amp simulations, and UAD effects directly during recording or live performances with virtually zero latency.

Plug-ins are processed internally by the interface, freeing up the computer’s CPU and ensuring maximum reliability even during particularly complex productions.

Professional Live Workflow

With the UAD Console app, you can manage routing, monitoring, and plug-in chains in an extremely intuitive way. The new Plug-In Scenes let you instantly recall complete configurations via MIDI, allowing you to adjust processing during a show without interrupting the performance.

High-Resolution Apollo X Conversion

Apollo X converters deliver reference-quality sound up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, offering extremely transparent reproduction during both recording and mixing.

Universal Audio’s professional conversion preserves all the dynamics and precision required by recording studios and professional audio systems.

Expand Your Dante System

The Apollo x16D can be connected to other Apollo x16D interfaces to build fully redundant 64-channel Dante systems. You can also integrate Dante networks with existing Apollo Thunderbolt systems, gradually expanding your studio without replacing your existing infrastructure.

Surround Monitoring and Immersive Audio

Once the live production is complete, the Apollo x16D becomes the studio’s control center thanks to support for surround and immersive audio systems up to 9.1.6. This allows you to create professional mixes for Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and other immersive formats using the same interface used during live events.
