Universal Audio, after the acquisition, in 2021, of the Townsend Labs brand, had the possibility to collaborate with Chris Townsend (Townsend Lab founder) to further develop Sphere L22 Modeling project.

UA Sphere DX mic

Sphere DLX

The modeling mic Sphere DLX by Universal Audio provides the sound of 38 classic mics (ribbon, condensed and dynamic) and allows for stereo trackings.

It is a device meant for sound engineers, musicians and creatives who need a high class mic collection without the related cost (also considering the maintenance required by vintage units.

Designed to be at the foundation of the tracking chain, the microphone provides an unprecedented level of detail.

Sphere LX

Sphere LX provides the sound of 20 classic mics from ribbon to dynamic passing through condenser.

The Sphere LX allows to listen the classic mic sounds before, during and after the tracking phase with any sound interface and any DAW.

Coupled with an Apollo interface enables a near zero latency recording.
