When Waldorf launched the Quantum in 2018, it was immediately recognized as a revolutionary tool in production studios, and appreciated by the most acclaimed film composers, producers, musicians, and sound designers. Today, five years later, Waldorf proudly presents its formidable successor: the Quantum MK2. This upgraded synthesizer boasts a 61-key Fatar keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch, greatly increased sampling memory to 59 GB, an improved body design and display, and new firmware 3.0 that brings polyphony up to 16 voices, combining the 8 analog filters with 8 additional digital filters.

Unparalleled Expression: Fatar TP8/SK Keyboard with Poly Aftertouch

The Quantum MK2 stands out as the world's first instrument to integrate a 61-key Fatar TP8/SK keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch. This innovation opens new frontiers in musical and gestural expression, allowing musicians to take full advantage of the immense modulation capabilities of the Quantum MK2's synthesis engine. It is an evolution in traditional keyboard-based expression that does not alter performance capabilities but enhances them with additional elements of control and creativity. The polyphonic aftertouch is also highly customizable both globally and for individual keys, with the high-resolution graphic display providing visual feedback and control for the customization process. The Quantum MK2 can also be controlled via any MPE-compatible controller by connecting it directly to its host USB port.

16-Voice Polyphony: Hybrid Synthesis at Its Peak

Starting with an 8-voice dual analog filter architecture, the Quantum MK2 has been enhanced to offer polyphony of up to 16 voices. This flexibility allows any combination of the dual digital multimodal filters with the 8 analog filters. The ability to combine analog and digital filters opens up unprecedented sonic scenarios, reinforcing Waldorf Music's renowned legacy in hybrid digital and analog synthesis. A new set of allocation modes gives the musician easy and intuitive control.

Extended Sampling Memory and Iridium Functionality.

A crucial aspect of the Quantum MK2 is the huge increase in sampling memory from a few GB to an impressive 59 GB. Because of its advanced sampling capabilities, the Quantum has quickly become the instrument of choice for world-renowned sound enthusiasts and film composers. From firmware 1.0 to the current 3.0, Waldorf has continuously listened to the needs of musicians, enhancing both the polyphonic granular sampling engine and the traditional multisample sampling engine. In addition, the Quantum Mk2 is designed to work seamlessly with Waldorf's Iridium firmware, allowing sounds to be designed and played in both directions, creating a true "Waldorf synthesis platform."

Innovative Design and Improved User Interface

The Quantum MK2 features an updated mechanical design and a sleek navy blue finish, offering a stunningly beautiful and inspiring instrument. The new high-resolution touch display provides a wider viewing angle and introduces new, intuitive control modes for the Quantum MK2's advanced synthesis features.
